Scholarships for Great-Grandchildren of Veterans

If you’re the great-grandchild of a United States veteran, then your great-grandparents’ service may qualify you for a college scholarship. So, if you’re trying to figure out how to pay for your higher education, you might want to apply for a scholarship. Specifically, the American Legion Auxiliary Children of Warriors Presidents’ Scholarship, which is available to the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of Armed Forces veterans. In order to qualify, applicants must provide proof of their great-grandparents’ service, complete 50 hours of community service during his or her high school years and be a senior in high school at the time of application. This scholarship was established to benefit senior high school students residing in the state of Oregon. The scholarship is for educational assistance other than HighSchool. Eligible applicants are students who are children, step-children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren of veterans or disabled veterans. Students must have been Junior members of the American Legion Auxiliary for the past three years and must hold a current membership card (2015).
