Scholarships for Commitment

Have you stuck with something even when it got tough? Have you shown dedication to a cause or organization over a long period of time? That’s commitment, and it’s an honorable trait that can earn you some funding for college. Many organizations, such as local community foundations and national charities, offer scholarships for students who have demonstrated commitment in their lives. They may be looking for commitment to a specific cause, such as raising awareness for a disease or organizing neighborhood cleanups, or it may be for commitment to self-improvement, like in athletics or musical talent. These scholarship applications generally look at the whole student, including academic achievement, and often require a personal essay and letters of recommendation. Pogorzelski-Yankee Memorial Scholarships is provided to undergraduate and graduate students who exhibit talent and achievements in the field of organ playing. The scholarship gives two awards yearly. The undergraduate scholar will receive a $7,500 fund and the graduate student will get a $15,000 fund to support their education with the commitment of teaching, performing or other serious endeavors with respect to the organ.
